BECKONS FALL TO BRONTE
Come out and celebrate the arrival of the fall harvest season with a twist! Enjoy the crisp autumn air and the colours of fall in picturesque Bronte Harbour Village by the Lake on Saturday, September 29. Lakeshore Rd. W. will be closed.
Bring walking shoes, folding chairs, and the family down for a FREE, fun-filled fall day of activities, food, fun and music for all ages.
The Lions Club will kick-start the day with their famous pancake breakfast on the street, from 8-11am.
The focal point of the day is the GIANT SIDEWALK SALE 10 – 6pm.
Visit the friendly merchants and service providers and shop for end of summer bargains, fall or pre-Christmas treasures. Bronte is the shopping and dining center of West Oakville.
Kid’s activities are scheduled between 11am. and 2pm.
Sue Coleman, Bronte resident, and Sales Representative of RE/MAX Aboutowne Realty Corp. Brokerage in Bronte, is again presenting award-winning, professional face painting and balloon sculptures with Butterscotch and Jordy.
Fulfill every little girl’s dream with a visit from Cinderella, in the magical Dreams and Wishes Show, at 11am. and at 1:30, with each show followed by a Meet & Greet. City Parent and the Toronto Sun call this the “best in Children's Entertainment".
At noon, enjoy the award winning musical duo, Splash'n'Boots, voted 2007 Canadian Children's Music Group of the Year! “The program is simple, fun, innocent, reminiscent of Sharon, Lois & Bram and Mr. Dressup”, says the Kingston Whig Standard.
Bronte special events wouldn’t be complete without the traditional Horse and Wagon Rides, again sponsored by our friends at Prudential Town Centre Realty Inc., ‘Rock Solid in Real Estate’. The horse team will tug their hay wagon throughout the village between 12 pm. and 4pm., allowing riders to jump on and off at various stores.
Other autumn-themed kid’s activities will be available including a bouncy ride at a small fee per child.
With the arrival of autumn comes football season. Wander east down Lakeshore to join the Bronte BIA Fundraising Team in an authentic Tailgate Party. Leave your cars at home - we're bringing all the experience of a Tailgate Party, including melt-in-your-mouth Pulled Pork Sandwiches, drinks, a Quarterback Toss game for the kids and a professional photographer to "snap" your kids' photos while they enjoy the fun. A pair of Hamilton TiCat tickets will be raffled off during the day.
Headlining the day musically, will be the Juno-nominated group, George Olliver and Gangbuster. Reminisce to the tunes of the 50’s to 80’s soul and R&B. George Olliver’s career shot to stardom as the lead singer of the now legendary R&B band Mandala. Nicknamed "The Blue-Eyed Prince of Soul" he has performed on tours with such bands as The Who, Rolling Stones and The Cream. It’s going to be a great time of r&b/soul, on Lakeshore Rd. don’t miss this one! Show times are: 2:30, 3:50 and 5:10pm.
A fun day in Bronte wouldn’t be complete without great food at one of our many Bronte eateries, pubs, restaurants, some with outdoor patios operating. Sammy’s Chip Wagon plans a Retro Rock Lounge live-band experience on Lakeshore Rd. Plan to end your day with dinner and refreshments at one of our popular local haunts.
