Submitted On 22 June, 2006 by Bronte BIA (AK)
By popular request, the Bronte Village BIA is hosting its own event, the Harbourfront Festival in Bronte, during the annual waterfront celebrations at Coronation Park.
On June 24 and 25th, Bronte Heritage Park will be the location for the Harbourfront Festival in Bronte. June 23rd will begin at 9:00 am with the Oakville Trafalgar Lions Club Pancake Breakfast by the Bronte Butterfly Gazebo. Local BIA merchants and vendors from Oakville and the GTA will have set up their booths for the weekend. The Oakville Trafalgar Lions Club will also be hosting the popular Beer Garden.
The Moonshine Café and the Pic-a-deli Restaurant have organized the Battle of the Bands that will take place on the stage in the Gazebo during the afternoon. John Marlatt of the Moonshine Café has also organized the musical entertainment for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
Harbourfront Festival is geared for families. Children can enjoy the bouncies and face painters. The whole family can take rides around Bronte in the Prudential Town Centre Realty Limousine (the ever popular horse and wagon ride).
The Tall Ship Sandy will be moored at the pier from Friday, June 23rd to Sunday June 25th. Tickets are still available for the Friday night and Saturday lunch cruises.
There is no entrance fee to the festival. Bring your lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the entertainment provided by the Bands competing in the Battle of the Bands. This is the elimination round and the finalists will entertain you at the Canada Day Festival on July 1st.
