2006 BRONTE BIA BUDGET PASSED (+PHOTOS)

Submitted On 20 April, 2006 by Bronte BIA (AK)

On April 5th, 2006, the Bronte BIA hosted our Annual General Meeting. This was an opportunity for local members and merchants to meet and greet the Bronte BIA Board, new Board Executive, and vote for the crucial 2006 budget.

The evening began with opening remarks, approval of 2005 AGM mimutes, and acknowledgements of volunteer services for certain community members.

Board Chair Murray McDonald discussed the purpose and role of the BIA and its structure through a PowerPoint slide presentation. Murray also discussed the extensive work of the Strategic Planning Committee which met numerous times in the first quarter of 2006 to establish a set of short-term and long-term stratgic priorities and plans for Bronte Village.

Board Member and Special Events Committee Chair Susan Carr discussed the 2006 Bronte Village-West Oakville BIA Events lineup. Murray followed with a discussion of current marketing initiatives. Board Member Laura Killip discussed the role of the Communications Committee, and Board Member (& Treasurer) Chris Maynard concluded with a review of the Budget and Bronte BIA financial picture.

Board Member Andrew Kicak gave an impromptu presentation on the Bronte BIA website and various initiatives undertaken this year.

The meeting concluded with a vote on the 2006 Bronte Village-West Oakville BIA budget which called for increases to continue to promote Bronte Village, the Bronte BIA website, and the various BIA community events through the year.

The Budget was approved overwhelmingly.

The Bronte Village-West Oakville BIA would like to thank all the members who attended the meeting, and the volunteers who assist us in all of our efforts.

Finally the BIA would also like to extend a huge Thank You to those local merchants who generously provided food and refreshments for the evening: Twisted Fork, Quiznos, Country Fare, and Domino's Pizza. Please support these local restaurants and eateries and of course all Bronte businesses!
