Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, Bronte Rd. south of Lakeshore Rd. between Bronte Rd. and East St. (southwest Oakville), Bronte Heritage Park
Visit this 6ft. high granite memorial along the path to the Bronte pier and lighthouse and learn about Bronte’s history as a commercial fishing village in the 19th. century from local resident volunteer historian Ken Pollock. To request a special talk for a group visit, call Ken at 905-827-2922

Oakville’s Canada Day and Fireworks in Bronte
Come out to celebrate Oakville’s Canada Day in Bronte’s Heritage Waterfront Park, located between East Street and on Bronte Road south of Lakeshore Rd. W.  Bring your lawn chair and blanket for this event that features great food, lively entertainment, lots of shopping, and many fun activities. Finish off the day with a concert and a spectacular fireworks display just off the Bronte Pier. This year, PARKING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE in the immediate area for those coming to see the fireworks in the evening. A shuttle bus service (not Oakville Transit) is being used to transport people from different parking lots. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THE EVENT. There will be little or no parking during certain hours, and tow-away restrictions will be in force.  Tell your friends.

47th Annual Art in the Park
The Oakville Art Society, founded in 1965, is an independent self supporting organization of artists, potters, jewelers, photographers and sculptors. ART IN THE PARKis one of several shows the Society organizes that provides opportunities for artists to display their work. Art in the Park in Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park is one of Oakville's premiere outdoor community events, drawing more than 3,000 visitors and participants from across Canada and around the world. The show features original work from over 150 artists with emphasis placed on painting, pottery, sculpture, woodworking, and photography. 10am – 5pm.  For more information, visit www.oakvilleartsociety.com.

Trafalgar Day Celebration (Sovereign House)     1:00 pm - 4:00pm

7 West River Street, Bronte Village (southwest Oakville).
Sovereign House was built by one of Bronte's founding fathers, Charles Sovereign. Trafalgar Day at the Sovereign House recognizes one of the biggest celebrities of 1800, Admiral Horatio Nelson's name was known all over the British Empire. At the same time, Halton County, on the shores of Lake Ontario, was being surveyed for pioneer settlement. This event celebrates our community’s place names.  Enjoy hot apple cider, tea and victory rum cake. Donations to the Bronte Historical Society gratefully accepted.
